At 9:30pm Saturday April 12, 2008 the skies over Downtown Louisville, Kentucky will be lit by the Largest Firework Display in North America, Thunder over Louisville. This show is the Kick Off to the Kentucky Derby Festival that leads up to the Kentucky Derby itself. 800,000 people line the shores to witness this display of raw power. This year more than 62,000 shells will be used in the 30 minute pyrotechnic display with shells coming from the Zambellis, as well as shells from Spain, Italy, and China. This is a peek into the mayhem that is Thunder from 2004-2007. This is what Thunder's all about!
