Saw him on TV there. Born 21May48. He's 60 years old now. Just did a video with "The Wiggles". yeesh! He wasn't attacked on the beach as someone said, but he was a 'hero' in a hotel fire in 1967. Actually, song was orginally Written by J.Allison and Sonny Curtis and recorded by The Crickets in 1960.
